Messier 94

Messier 94, also known as NGC 4736, is a bright spiral galaxy located in the constellation Canes Venatici. It was discovered by French astronomer Pierre Méchain in 1781 and subsequently cataloged by Charles Messier. M94 is classified as a spiral galaxy with a prominent central region and tightly wound spiral arms. It has two distinct ring structures: an inner ring and an outer ring. The inner ring, located around the galaxy's core, is rich in young, hot stars, while the outer ring, also known as a pseudoring, is formed by spiral arms that appear to loop around the galaxy. M94 is approximately 16 million light-years away from Earth. It spans about 30,000 light-years in diameter, making it smaller than our Milky Way galaxy.
